Exchange Your Watch
in London
Trade the watch on your wrist against the one you would rather be wearing. Our watch part exchange service values your current piece on brand, model and condition, then puts that value straight towards your next watch, so the only money that moves is the difference. Exchanges run in person at our Birchin Lane showroom or entirely online, and most are wrapped up within a few days to a week.

How a part exchange works
- Tell us about both watches. The piece you want, with brand, model number, year and any specifics, and the piece you are trading, with its reference, year and condition.
- Receive both figures. We value your trade-in and confirm the price of the watch you are moving to, so the difference is clear before you commit to anything.
- Complete the exchange. Bring both sides of the deal to the showroom, or handle it remotely with insured collection and delivery.
- Settle the balance. Pay the difference and the watch is yours, covered by our 12-month warranty. Part exchange is subject to final approval once your watch has been received and checked at our head office.

How your trade-in is valued
Brand, model and condition set the figure, measured against what that reference is currently worth rather than against a fixed list. The original box, warranty card and service history all push the number up, which is why the form asks about them.
Trade-in values are fair and transparent, and our team will talk you through how the figure for your watch was reached.
Upgrading your collection for less
Trading in means the money already sitting in your collection does the work. Rather than selling privately, waiting for a buyer and then starting the search from scratch, the value of your current watch moves straight across to a more valuable or more sought-after piece in a single transaction.
Exchange also opens up a wider choice than buying outright might. Our collection spans Rolex, Patek Philippe, Cartier, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Tudor, Breitling, Omega and TAG Heuer, including pieces that rarely reach the open market.
Not sure which watch to move to?
Our team will help you narrow it down. Tell us how you plan to wear the watch and what you want to spend, and we will suggest references that fit rather than pushing whatever happens to be in stock. If the piece you want is not in the collection, our sourcing team can go and find it, and your trade-in value still applies against it.
Exchange or sell outright?
Exchange suits you when you already know which watch is next. Your money stays in a watch rather than passing through your account, and the whole thing completes in one step.
Selling outright suits you when you want the cash, or when the replacement is still undecided. Payment is released the same day the watch clears final approval.
Both routes start from the same free valuation, and you can switch between them at any point before the deal completes.
Frequently Asked Questions
exchange your watch with The Chrono Group
How does watch part exchange work?
You trade your current watch against a piece from our collection. We value it on brand, model and condition, apply that value to the purchase, and you pay only the difference. Exchanges run in person at our London showroom or online, and usually complete within a few days to a week.
Which watches do you accept in part exchange?
A wide range of luxury watches, including the most sought-after names on the market. Send the brand, model, reference and condition through the exchange form and we will confirm the position before you travel.
How do you work out my trade-in value?
Brand, model and condition are assessed together, with the box and warranty card taken into account. Our experts value the watch against the current market and explain the figure openly.
How long does an exchange take?
Usually a few days to a week, depending on how quickly both sides confirm and whether the watch you want is in stock.
Can I exchange for a watch you do not currently hold?
Yes. Our sourcing service tracks down pieces held elsewhere on the market, and your trade-in value applies against them in the same way.
Is the watch I receive covered by a warranty?
Yes. Watches sold through Chrono Group carry a comprehensive 12-month warranty, so anything unexpected is dealt with promptly.
What if I want to change watches again later?
That is the point of the programme. When you are ready to move on again, trade the watch back in and step up a second time.
